Because Personal Injury is All We Do.

Is your phone dangerous?

If you are like most people, you use your phone for hours at a time every day. You text, email, browse social media and even play games with it—and on top of all that, you can accessorize it to display your personality. You probably do this by keeping your phone in a trendy case.

What you might not expect is that phones, as well as their cases and other accessories, could be dangerous.

Cases may not meet safety standards

According to the New York Post, certain cases may be responsible for chemical burns suffered by as many as 24 people. There are a few other things you should know about phones and the risks they can pose.

Just like many of the other products we use every day, a huge portion of phone cases on the market are manufactured in China and other countries with less stringent safety regulations. One of the most common culprits for high-risk imports is plastic made with potentially toxic materials. This, unfortunately, is common in phone cases—so you should be wary of the risks any phone case could pose.

Recalls indicate serious risks from phones

Phone cases are not the only potential danger—your phone itself may be a hazard to your health. Some phones have been recalled for issues so severe as causing fires and exploding. Other recalls have been issued due to small parts that may break off and pose a choking hazard. It is important to pay attention to recalls and ensure that your phone is not a risk to you or your children.

Product defects span all phone accessories

Phones and cases can be dangerous, but so can headsets, cords and other accessories. Anything can be hazardous if it is poorly manufactured, and unfortunately, many products are.

If you have been injured by a phone, a case, an accessory or any other unsafe product, you should consider hiring a legal representative to assist you with your case.
