2 suffer fatal injuries helping out a friend

When Florida residents get a call from a friend in need, most of them will do what they can to help. Most people never imagine that providing such assistance will put their lives in danger. Sadly, this is what happened to two people who recently suffered fatal injuries while one was lending a helping hand to the other.

Truck driver dies in fiery crash on I-75, others injured

Truck accidents that occur on Florida's interstates can easily involve several vehicles. The size of an 18-wheeler alone can block a highway's lanes, making it impossible for some vehicles to avoid colliding with the wreckage of the first accident. If a truck driver is careless or reckless and causes a crash, many people could be injured or killed.

Serious and fatal injuries suffered in box truck crash

A single vehicle accident can quickly involve multiple vehicles on a busy highway like Interstate 95. When a driver loses control of his or her vehicle, other vehicles on the road may not have time to avoid a collision. The Florida Highway Patrol reports that this was the cause of a crash that took place at approximately 1:30 a.m. on a recent Friday. One person was killed and three others suffered injuries.

Truck accident claims life of Florida tractor driver

A truck accident claimed the life of a Florida tractor driver as he was traveling on U.S. 27. The tractor was towing a piece of equipment and was in the right lane at the time of the truck accident. The semitrailer was approaching the tractor from behind and was unable to slow down to an appropriate speed to avoid an impact. Consequently, the semitrailer hit the spray trailer that the tractor was pulling.

Florida fatal truck accident caused by driver with 27 violations

So much alcohol, 30,000 pounds to be exact, was spilled on the highway after an accident that officials feared the road would catch fire. The threat of fire from the spilled alcoholic beverages was enough to close the southbound lanes of Interstate 75 in Florida for more than seven hours as cleanup crews waited for the alcohol to evaporate. The situation could be found humorous if the truck accident did not involve the death of the unfortunate motorist who was allegedly forced off the bridge by a semi truck and into the five-foot deep waters of the Alafia River.

More than 20 vehicles, plus 6 trucks, involved in pileup crash

Shared liability is a crucial aspect to determining fault in many car accidents. Since a great number of motor vehicle accidents involve more than two vehicles, it can be difficult to definitively say who deserves what portion of blame for the wreck, especially when it comes to damages. This is where shared liability comes in. It divvies the liability among the parties involved -- even the people who could objectively be considered the "victims" of the crash. They played a role in the crash after all, and thus, they share a portion of that liability (even though it may be a very small percentage).
